Blakedown were employed by Northamptonshire County Council to construct multiple top quality sports facilities for the Thomas Becket Catholic School.
The project included a new 106m x 71m 3G artificial turf football pitch, large natural grass playing fields, two 50m long jump straights and landing pits, fencing, floodlighting, and associated landscaping works.
The 3G pitch, built onto an Engineered tarmac base, was surfaced with Desso's D-Vision 40 sports turf and was lined for three cross-play 7-a-side football pitches as well as the main 11-a-side footprint. The natural grass playing fields, a 25,000 square metre area, was graded, over-seeded, and lined with an athletics tracks and a full size rugby pitch.
All work has been finished to a very high standard. The 3G pitch is excellent and everyone that has used it has said so. The work was completed with the minimum of disruption and all Blakedown's team involved were polite and mindful of the problems that working in a school environment can bring: noise was kept to a minimum during exams, and our Exams Officer was also very impressed.
